Update from the WWCC

Leslie Ingram-Brown sends this report from Denmark:

"Anette Norberg's Swedish team lost their last round game to Patti Lank's USA, 8-3 in only eight ends, to finish on nine wins. They Swedes will play China's Bingyu Wang who finished ranked second on eight wins after this afternoon's draw and sat out this evening's session. The Page 1-2 game is to-morrow night (Friday) at 19:00.

Three teams tied for third ranked position on seven wins; Canada who completed their games this afternoon; hosts Denmark who thrashed Russia 10-3 picking up three shots in the ninth end when Russia conceded; and Switzerland who had a last end win over Norway 7-4. On the results from the round robin games it will be Denmark who will be ranked third as they defeated both Canada and Switzerland in the round robin.

Canada and Switzerland now play a tie-break game tomorrow afternoon at 14:00. The winner will be ranked fourth and will play Denmark in the Page 3 v 4 game on Saturday morning at 10:00. The winner moves to the semifinal, to meet the loser of the Page 1-2, scheduled the same afternoon at 15:00. The loser of the semi plays the bronze medal game on Sunday at 10:00 against the loser of the Page 3-4. The final is on Sunday afternoon."

RESULTS Draw 17: Switzerland 7 Norway 4, Denmark 10 Russia 3, USA 8 Sweden 3, Germany 6 Korea 5.

Final Standings: 9/2 - Sweden; 8/3 - China; 7/4 - Denmark; Canada, Switzerland; 6/5 - Russia, USA; 5/6 - Germany; 4/7 - Scotland; 3/8 - Norway; 2/9 - Korea, Czech Republic.
