Teams wanted

Graham Sloan has been in touch to say that, following the success of the Ice Bowl Open, Dumfries is now looking towards the 4Bowl, October 7-9. First games are Friday evening.

Graham says, "We have some international teams signed up to the event already and are looking for some Scottish teams to put their hats in the mix."

As this event allows some placing of stones in the early ends of each game (call it 'playing your Joker', or whatever), the 4Bowl will test all those tactical wizards out there. Sounds fun, and great value. Graham's contact details are on this page if you would like to find out more information.

The Braehead Ladies Open is a one day competition, Wednesday, December 7. You get three five end games, with morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea, for £28 a head. David Horne is your contact for this and his contact details are on this page.

And looking further ahead in the season, there are still places at Curl Aberdeen for the Petrofac Aberdeen City Open, February 3-5. I just thought this was a splendid competition last time. See here for all the details. Louise Edwards writes, "We've already had a lot of interest and spaces are filling up fast - don't miss out!"
