Scotland Opens With Win In Denmark

The European Mixed Curling Championship is underway at the Taarnby Club. Scotland was in action in a first game on Saturday evening.

Leslie Ingram-Brown writes, "It was a fairly comfortable win for David Edward's team of Kerry Barr, Scott Macleod and Louise Edwards in the opening round. Edwards drew for a single in the first and Austrian fourth Christian Roth drew for a single in the second. Scotland blanked the third and when David drew round a guard for a two in the fourth, the control of the game came the Scots way.

In the fifth David hit to lie three shots with both his stones and on both occasions Roth drew a single shot. In the sixth the Scots picked up another single to again extend their lead to two shots. Then, in the seventh, with a near 100% from the front three players David played two perfect guards to lie three. There was no way in for Austria and it was time to go home."

Thanks Leslie for the above, and for the photos above and below.
