YOUR Curler

The Royal Caledonian Curling Club's new publishing venture, the e-magazine YOUR Curler, is dropping into members' email INboxes today. That's part of the front page above. Royal Club CEO, Bruce Crawford, has the lead article. In this he says, "The idea of this publication came from our Communications Committee and from feedback received from members in a survey undertaken to influence our new strategy. We wanted to give you news and articles on a regular basis and in a format that could be printed and enjoyed in your armchair, not just at your desk. In part we aim to fill the void left by the demise of the Scottish Curler magazine, but without the costs associated with printing and postage, that proved to be unsustainable."

I'm not going to say anything further on the content, other than to say it's a good read, with lots of interest in the twelve pages. I know how much work goes in to making something like this happen, so a big 'Well done!' to all involved.

The magazine is a 'members' benefit', and currently only goes to those for whom the Club holds an email address. I hope that once the monthly magazine gets established, past issues will be made available to all online, such as the English Curling Association has done with its Newsletter on issuu.com, see here.

Right, I'm off to have another laugh at Helen King's humorous take on a curler's summer!
