Andrew Kerr sends this report:
"Ayrshire Curlers plc held a very successful mixed invitation competition last weekend with 22 rinks participating from as far afield as Fife, the Borders, Dumbarton and Lanarkshire. The competition started on Friday night followed by two games on Saturday and the final section game on Sunday morning. An excellent buffet and dance was held on Saturday night which may have accounted for some of the rinks being a bit below par on the Sunday morning!
However, two Kinross rinks were made of sterner stuff and after an extra end Sandy Nelson with Wilma Brownlie, Jim Brownlie and Edna Nelson just pipped Bob Stevenson’s rink of Mary Barr, Alan Barr and Ena Stevenson.
Third and fourth places were taken by the local rinks of Robert Anderson and Jim Boswell and Jim Cullen’s Earlston (Borders) rink of Wendy Henderson, Bobby Henderson and Liz Cullen was fifth."
