Players Dinner

An innovation this year was the Royal Club's 'Players Dinner', at the Dewar's Centre, last night. Two of the teams were missing, of course, fighting out their tiebreaker as the rest were enjoying a lovely meal. RCCC President Pat Edington was in the chair, and there was also a welcome from John Taylor, representing the new sponsors, The Co-operative Funeralcare.

The main speaker was Robin Copland, here showing us how to play a microphone! Robin gave us an entertaining and provocative speech.

Guests at the dinner included long time supporters of the sport, Jeanette and Colin Galbraith. One of the functions of the dinner was to make the presentations to the winners of the Royal Club's Women's Tour. Here Colin presents the Colin Galbraith trophy (named in memory of his son) to (L-R) Abi Brown, Alice Spence, Lauren Gray and Hannah Fleming.

Jeanette presented the other Colin Galbraith trophy to the winning skip of the new Goldline Scottish Curling Tour, Kyle Smith.

Drew McVeigh, General Manager of Goldline, had flown in from Canada.

Drew presented the winners of the Goldline Scottish Curling Tour with their winners' cheque! L-R: Kyle Smith, Thomas Muirhead, Kyle Waddell and Kerr Drummond. This team of course went on to win the Scottish Junior Championship.
