Canadian Wheelchair Curling Champion Suspended

On the eve of the World Wheelchair Curling Championship in Korea last month, the key player in the Canadian team, Jim Armstrong, was reported to have returned home before a stone had been played. The reason has only now become public. Armstrong had failed an out of competition drug test.

Allen Cameron had the scoop here. The official statement from the World Curling Federation is here. And there's lots more to read from Chris Daw on the Wheelchair Curling Blog 2, here.

Armstrong has featured on the blog before, for all the wrong reasons, see here.

Photo is by Hugh Stewart and was taken when Armstrong competed in the Kinross Wheelchair Curling International in 2009.
