Marathons and Welsh at Dumfries

Well done to the ten Dumfries curlers who played 245 ends, for sixty one hours and forty minutes, at the Ice Bowl, setting a new Guinness World Record for two five-aside teams, and at the same time raising lots of money and raising the profile of the sport both locally and nationally.

Alongside the marathon men for some of the time were four rinks of Welsh, competing in playdowns to find the team to represent Wales at this year's European Championship. The winners are shown below.

L-R: James Pougher (skip), Hugh Meikle (3rd), Andrew Tanner (2nd), Richard Pougher (lead).
