"Ships, I see no ships!" Ian Mackin and Wendy Highet were keeping the scores and standings up to date on the website yesterday.
Here's Kirsty Letton doing what a joint chairman does. Beavering away keeping her team of volunteers in order! The rumour is she's going to retire after this one. Will we see her likes again?
One of the improvements at Braehead, thanks to the efforts of the Braehead Curling Development Group, has been the installation of cameras over the heads of three of the rinks.
The cameras were installed by Harry Millan and his company, Millan Leisure Ltd, who went the extra mile to get them put up before the event. The Braehead Curling Development Group are planning a further fundraising push, and other activities. Check the website here.
Kay Gibb, the President of the RCCC Ladies Branch, welcomed all the curlers to a buffet supper yesterday, sponsored by the Ladies Branch. And very nice it was too!
A wee mention to the caterers, Ken Clark and his staff from REDSS cafe and deli in Paisley. And I want to give a big thank you too to Stephen and his harem, Stephanie, Debbie and Adele, the Braehead staff, who have been looking after me here!
Two Co-Chairmen and a President! L-R: Kirsty Letton, Kay Gibb and Judith McFarlane. Only two more days to go, ladies!
David Horne is Braehead's curling development officer. Here he is, surrounded by a group of primary schoolkids (from St Andrews school) who came to watch some of the play today, and enlivened the proceedings.
Some became autograph hunters when they discovered that Michael McCreadie, skip of Team GB at the Paralympics curling in March, was on hand watching the play yesterday.
