I am advised that Braehead will have sufficient ice to stage the Glynhill Ladies International this weekend. This competition is the only women's Curling Champions Tour event in Scotland. There are twenty-four teams, from twelve different countries. Seven of the teams which will compete in the Vancouver Olympics will be at Braehead. It will be a good opportunity to see Eve Muirhead (above), Jackie Lockhart, Kelly Wood, Lorna Vevers and Karen Addison, Team GB in Vancouver 2010, in action against the best in the world.
Bingyu Wang's World Champions from China will be the first of the foreign rinks to arrive in Scotland, today. There is no truth in the rumour that they just want to get some practice on the crampits before the off at 08.00 on Friday morning!
