Wheels at Hamilton

I looked in to the Lanarkshire Ice Rink, Hamilton, yesterday, to catch some of the play in the Lanarkshire Wheelchair International. Eight teams were competing in the two-day competition, which finishes today. Here are a few photos which hopefully will give a flavour of the competition.

Local curler Robert McPherson, who is in the SWCA Spokes Development Squad this season, was playing yesterday with Aileen Neilson, Tom Killin and Angie Malone, three of the Scotland team who will be competing at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship in Chuncheon City, South Korea, February 18-25.

Lanarkshire Wheelchair Curling International

Teams from Norway, Sweden and Germany are competing in the second Lanarkshire Wheelchair Curling International. Eight teams are in the event, which runs today and tomorrow and is organised by the South Lanarkshire Wheelchair Curling Club. The final is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2 pm.
