Day 4, Round 6, of the Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish Men's Curling Championships at Perth. At the start of the draw, the standings table was headed by Team David Edwards, still undefeated after five rounds, with Smith, Murdoch, Brewster and Gray chasing, all with three wins and two losses.
None of these teams were playing each other this morning, so the question was always going to be if any would slip up against teams lower down the leader board.
All the results and standings are here.
David Murdoch was up against his old teammate Ewan MacDonald (top photo). Ewan with Graeme Connal, Peter Loudon and Euan Byers took a three at the first, and David, Glen Muirhead, Ross Paterson and Richard Woods had to fight hard. But it was too much of an uphill struggle and it was over early, game to Team MacDonald.
Scottish Country Dancing anyone. How about a 'Grand Old Duke of York'?
Scott Andrews (Team Tom Brewster) wonders if hiding amongst the foliage is the best option after playing a bad shot!
Seriously, Tom was a couple down against the John Hamilton team before crafting a big four in the eighth to take the initiative. He had last stone in the tenth and his clearance was on target for the win.
In other games, David Edwards kept his unbeaten record against Murray Young's side - these young curlers learning lots, and not looking a bit out of place in Scotland's top ten this week.
Jay McWilliam's team faced Logan Gray. One up in the tenth, Logan drew the button to keep the Flower Power team in the race.
David Smith's team were tied up with Graeme Black in the tenth. Warwick didn't need to play his last though, and that was another win for the Smiths. Cue music.
