No medals for GB wheels in Vancouver

Canada will play the winner of a tiebreaker between Italy and Sweden in the semifinal of the wheelchair curling event at the Paralympics in Vancouver. USA meets Korea in the other semi on Saturday.

The standings after the round robin were:
Canada 7-2
USA 7-2
Korea 6-3
Italy 5-4
Sweden 5-4

Great Britain 3-6
Switzerland 3-6
Germany 3-6
Norway 3-6
Japan 3-6

Paralympics update

If you've been following the wheelchair curling at the Paralympics, you will already be aware that Team GB has been struggling in Vancouver. After five games, the team has won just one match. Aileen Neilson plays last stones for the team with Michael McCreadie skipping.

Wheels in Vancouver

Attention returns to the Olympic/Paralympic Centre in Hillcrest Park, Vancouver, tomorrow, for the first games of the wheelchair curling at the Paralympics 2010. Go here to find the schedule and results.

Team GB is skipped by Mike McCreadie. I posted a photo of the team on the blog recently here. Their first game is a tough one, against the Canadians who are skipped by former Canadian Brier Champion Jim Armstrong.
