The Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontaria, will host the Grey Power World Cup of Curling from today through to October 25, 2009. The fourteen teams in the draw include David Murdoch and Kevin Martin whose rinks contested the world title last season. Thomas Ulsrud's Norwegian side, the top Europeans so far this season in the Champions Tour events, is in the draw, as is Andy Kapp from Germany, Switzerland's Ralph Stockli and Niklas Edin of Sweden.
The Canadians include Glenn Howard, Kevin Koe, Randy Ferbey and Brad Gushue, all Olympic hopefuls. It will be a feast of top curling. The men play in two sections to find quarterfinalists.
Four women's teams will take part in the Three Nations Cup, which runs alongside the men's event at the Hershey Centre. Reigning world champion Bingyu Wang of China joins Eve Muirhead's Team Great Britain, with Shannon Kleibrink of Calgary and Stefanie Lawton of Saskatoon in this competition.
