Perth U-17

I'm at the Dewar's Rinks in Perth today for the first event of the new season! The Under-17 competition is the first of a series of competitions for this age group which make up the RCCC's Grand Slam. Except that it's not as simple as that, since some players who are NOT eligible to play in the 2010-11 season U-17 events, ARE still eligible to compete at Perth this week. Sometimes I think that life is just too complicated these days!

Anyway, there's an exciting mix of experience out on the ice, and as always it's great to see the young curlers enjoying themselves. Sixteen teams are playing in four sections. Top of each progress to high road semifinals, and second placed teams play off in the low road tomorrow. Six end games are the format. All the results are here.
