New RCCC communications post

The Royal Caledonian Curling Club has appointed Kay Adams as its new Communications and Web Content Officer. This job will be somewhat different from the previous post of Marketing and Communications Officer, which has been vacant for nearly a year. Kay will concentrate more on communications and the development of the Royal Club’s website.

Kay has worked for the Royal Club for the past two summers, and has recently graduated from the University of Stirling with a BA (Hons) in Sport Studies. During her time at university, she studied modules on Sports Communication; Policy, Planning and Management; and Operational Management in Sport, all of which will be beneficial in her new job.

Kay is a competitive curler, who hails from Stranraer. She brought home gold medals from the last two World Junior Championships with the Eve Muirhead team - in 2008 stepping into the side in Ostersund for the playoffs when her sister Vicki was injured. Kay was also a member of Team GB at the Winter Universiade in Harbin.

Colin Grahamslaw, Chief Executive Officer of the RCCC, commented on the new appointment, “We are pleased to appoint Kay to this key post at the start of what will be a busy and high profile year for the sport. Her initial focus will be to review internal and external communications and to work with the web-site providers on a re-vamp of the Royal Club web-site.”

Congratulations to Kay, and I look forward to working with her in the coming season. It's great to have a curler in the post. The news is on the Royal Club website here.
