I was privileged to be a guest at the RCCC Ladies' Branch Anniversary Bonspiel and Lunch at the Dewar's Centre in Perth yesterday. Above: President Kay Gibb throws an opening stone right to the button!
A team from each of the nineteen Ladies' Centres was joined by a team of Past Presidents for the on-ice side of the day.
The format was one end, then move on to meet other opposition. Great fun.
Probably wrong to single out any one curler, but I had to point the lens at Judith McFarlane (in the grey top). Judith is the Royal Club's Development Manager, and many congratulations to her for putting the successful 'Try Curling' initiative together (see here) to capitalise on post-Olympics interest in the sport.
And her life has been exciting recently. Many congratulations, Judith!
Sandi Buchan was manning the sales table.
What a beautiful cake!
Past President Norah Hay did the honours, with Claire Mclaren and Kay Gibb in attendance.
We enjoyed a lovely meal.
And here's Sheila Miller who has compiled a book to celebrate the Ladies' Branch anniversary. The Second Twenty-Five Years is described here.
