Eighteen men's teams and eighteen women's teams are heading for the Greenacres rink in Renfrewshire this week. The European Seniors Invitation Championships begin on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the event!
Countries represented in the men's competition include England, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Wales, as well as the home nation. In the women's event, teams from England, Ireland, Netherlands and Sweden will fight it out with the Scottish sides.
Play in each event is in sections of six. First games are at 09.30 Wednesday morning, with the knockout stages scheduled for Saturday, November 7.
Malcolm Richardson is chairman of the event, seen above presenting the trophy last year to the Roxin team from Sweden who are in the draw again this year.
Scotland's Kay Gibb and her team won the women's event last year.
