Leslie reports from Moscow:
"Scotland's latest opponent at the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships was Italy's Diana Gaspari who knew that a win over the Scots would bring her into the reckoning for the week-end.
But Eve, Anna, Vicky and Claire had other ideas, taking a two in the first with the hammer and forced Italy to take a single in the second. Then they blanked the third.
In the fourth Eve had a draw for a deuce but came up short and in the fifth Gaspari drew for a single. At the break Eve led 3-2.
The sixth was blanked and in the seventh, with Italy lying one, Eve drew but was heavy and it was a steal to Italy with the score at 3-3.
With Italy lying in the eighth, Eve raised to the four foot for shot. Into the ninth and with skips last stones to come Eve wrecked with her draw. Gaspari had a shot for two and a lead going into the last end but she was heavy and counted only one. Coming home, the score was tied 4-4 but Eve had the hammer.
With Italy lying a pair in the tenth, Eve threw a hit and lie with her last stone and it was game and a win for the Scots."
Scores: Sweden 9 Germany 6, Denmark 8 Russia 7, Switzerland 8 Norway 3, Czech Republic 10 Latvia 1, Scotland 5 Italy 4.
