Kinross rink hosts international wheels

Norwegian skip Rune Lorentsen is in full concentration mode in this photo from the Kinross Wheelchair Curling International Invitational. Seven teams are playing a round robin, with three more rounds to be played today (Thursday). The Norwegians had yet to be beaten when I left Kinross yesterday.

Here are a few more photos to give you a flavour of the event.

Switzerland's Claudia Huttenmoser in action.

Peter Knapper and Billy Bell of Wales discuss options in a game against Scotland's Ian Donaldson.

Aileen Neilson is in charge of the house in her game against Murray Cran. With Aileen were Tom Killin, Gregor Ewan and Angie Malone.

Mo Simpson and Evelyn Cran.

I mentioned Neil Hogg recently (see here) as one of the most enthusiastic new curlers I'd come across. He was called in as substitute for the Ian Donaldson team, to make his debut in an international event! Jackie Cayton and Gill Keith are the other members of Scotland 3.

"Well played, skip." Angie Malone encourages Aileen Neilson.

Aileen watches the progress of her stone intently, with Gregor Ewan.

Ena Stevenson makes sure all the helpers are watered at mid game!

I noted some very good heads in the games I watched today.

Murray Cran contemplates his next play. With Murray were Mo Simpson, Elaine Lister and Evelyn Cran.

Chief Umpire Dor Borthwick in action!

Swiss bonding!

I've mentioned local Kinross curler Maria Duncan before too. She has been recruited to be the female member of Team Norway this week!

And enjoying every minute of it too!

Unbeaten in three games were Rosemary Lenton, Michael Mckenzie, Jim Gault and Jim Sellar.
