Elections for the RCCC Board

Irene Hird, above, has been a great servant of the Royal Club. By the time the AGM comes round, she will have served two three-year terms as an elected Director of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club. This means of course that she is not eligible for re-election this time.

Lockhart Steele's three years are up too, and although he is eligible to stand again, he has indicated that he does not intend to do so.

So, there are two places on the Board to be filled this year. Nominations will have been made - they had to have been received at Cairnie House by the start of business today. If more than two nominations have been made, individual members of the Royal Club will be able to vote for their choices for the first time, following the success of the one member - one vote resolution last year.

I am wondering this morning who will be joining Willie Nicoll, Jeanette Johnston, Anne Malcolm and Bob Kelly, as well as the President and the CEO, as the crew which will steer Scotland's governing body into the future.

Not forgetting of course that the Vice-president's position is open too. That election is carried out at the AGM.
