This was the position going into the penultimate game of the round robin in the junior men's event of the Scottish Junior Curling Championships at Curl Aberdeen today.
Let's start at the top of the table. Ally Fraser's side faced Graeme Black, second equal in the standings on three wins. All one way, this one, and it was over in six ends, Team Black unable to hang points on the scoreboard. That win keeps Ally Fraser, Blair Fraser, Thomas Sloan and Kerr Drummond on top of the pile with five wins from six games. Team Fraser plays John Penny's side tomorrow at 12.30 in the final round robin game.
Duncan Menzies and his team had a slow start to the competition but their win this evening over Bruce Mouat brings them into contention with three wins from six games.
Michael Reid ran out well ahead of Jay McWilliam.
The John Penny and Kyle Smith teams were both on three wins. Team Penny looked to be fired up for this one, and ran out comfortable winners. Penny then has four wins now, in second place in the standings.
So, one round to go tomorrow to sort out who will be playing on Sunday!
Craig Kirkwood, Gavin Reid, James Whiteford and Michael Reid look smart in this team pic for their sponsors!
The McWilliam team in action. Grant Hardie's stone, Ian Copland and Struan Wood are sweeping, Jay McWilliam in the head.
