WJCC: Mr Happy Comes Curling

The World Junior Curling Championships welcomed an important visitor to the Dewar's Centre today, Mr Happy, aka Andy Jackson, who is running from John O’Groats to Land’s End, via the Virgin London Marathon! Here he is with girlfriend Lauren Smith. They had already run ten miles together through the snow this morning.

Former leukaemia sufferer Jackson is raising funds for leading national charity CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA. More information including ways to donate can be found here. There are regular updates including blogs, videos and pictures on the main website and through social networking sites Facebook and Twitter. Jackson was 19 when he ran his first London Marathon, just seven months after being diagnosed with leukaemia and two weeks BEFORE his life-saving bone marrow transplant.

Could we get Mr Happy to try out curling for the first time?

Absolutely. World Junior Curling Champion Kristian Lindstrom made sure Mr Happy delivered on line!

In case you are wondering, the Mr Happy suit is 90cm wide, 265cm high and weighs over 7 kilos. Andy doesn't run in it all the time, but in a special Mr Happy vest. But he does plan to wear it for the whole London Marathon on April 17.

CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA is a most deserving charity. Please help. You can donate online here.
